Your weight loss journey takes dedication and requires consistency so your plan is designed for a weekly delivery of food. These automatic shipments require no commitment and all orders are automatically recurring. Deadlines for Making Changes to Your Plan, Including a Change of Address

We are happy to accommodate your requests. You must let us know by the deadlines listed below so we can best serve you. Give us a call at 866-630-3438. Each order automatically recurs each week, so unless you tell us otherwise, your meals will automatically be shipped and billed to you the following week. As a new customer you have until Sunday at midnight, EST, immediately after you receive your first shipment to make changes to your next week of meals. This is a courtesy to you to provide time to try the meals and let us know if you would like any changes or would like to cancel your next week's shipment. For all future weeks, week two and beyond, all changes must be made by Wednesday at 5 p.m., EST, PRIOR to your next week's shipment. Please understand that once FedEx picks up your shipment, the meals are on their way to you. We are unable to make changes to that order. If you contact us after the deadline, any changes will be reflected on the following order. If you cancel after the deadline you will receive and will be billed for this final shipment.

Fedex delivery

Each week you will receive a FedEx tracking number via email that will allow you to see real time progress and track your shipment. If you do not receive one, please check your spam folder. If this number has been provided to you and it doesn’t pull anything up in the site www.FedEx.com/tracking, don’t worry, it’s just not live in their system yet. As soon as it is live, you will be able to track your package. As long as FedEx feels it is safe to leave your package upon delivery, they will not require a signature. If we are shipping to an apartment building, FedEx may require a signature and the package may be left at a manager’s office. Although we try to do everything in our power to provide you with a consistent delivery schedule for your meals, FedEx is unable to guarantee that you will always receive your meals on the exact same day. Please refer to your tracking number to see the real time status of your shipment. If there are any concerns you have with your delivery schedule, please contact us at bistroMD and we will be happy to assist you.

Does the 17 Day Diet meal plan follow the Cycles in the 17 Day Diet book?

Yes, the meal plan progresses through the Activate and Arrive Cycles. Every three weeks, you will advance. As of 2015, to provide our members the best experience possible, we will no longer offer the reduced variety cycles of Accelerate and Activate. We are able to provide more variety on Activate and Arrive.

For the meal plan, how will I know what foos to eat and when?

In your shipment of meals, you will receive a weekly menu that outlines what to eat for each day.

Must I place a new order for the meal plan each?

All orders are automatically recurring. We know that dieting takes dedication and consistency, so for your convenience, your 17 Day Diet Meal Plan will automatically ship at the beginning of the week and arrive at your door toward the end of each week. You will receive 7 days of food in each shipment. These automatic shipments require no commitment, and after your first week of meals, all orders are automatically recurring each week. If you have any changes to your next order, please contact us by our deadlines listed on this page, in your e-mail confirmation when you place your order and on your weekly menu in your shipment. If at any time you decide to take a break or stop, then simply contact our customer service team at 866-401-3438.

Storage of Meals

All of your meals are packaged fresh frozen in a reusable cooler that is packed with dry ice. When you receive your meals, they should arrive cold, even if the dry ice is no longer in solid form. Please place your meals in your freezer upon delivery.

What Meals are on the Program?

The 17 Day Diet menu is a fixed menu. To provide you with entrees that best fit the 17 Day Diet’s guidelines for weight loss we do not allow customization of this menu. To see the entrees that are on the program, view the menu for each Cycle. Due to availability and seasonality of ingredients, we may substitute an entree for a different approved recipe.

Can I add salt to my food if I am used to having it? Does this go against the recommendations made by Dr. Moreno in his book?

Salt is okay as long as it is used in small moderation. Don’t get into the habit of using salt too often, as various kinds do still contain a lot of sodium, which can have a negative impact on your goals. To avoid using salt to season your meals, look for various herbs and spices that can still flavor your dish, but are a healthier alternative.

Can I have coffee on this diet?

Yes! Coffee and green tea are allowed on this diet. Please be aware that caffeine stimulates the central nervous and cardiovascular systems and is a diuretic. Too much coffee or tea can result in elevated blood pressure, insomnia, nervousness or rapid, uncomfortable breathing. How much you consume depends on your health and your caffeine tolerance. Most doctors say three to four 8 oz. cups of caffeinated coffee or tea is the maximum an individual should have daily.

Does the 17 Day Diet Meal Plan follow the guidelines in the book?

The 17 Day Diet Meal Plan is structured so your body loses weight based on the principles of moderation in your meals and proper portion control. If you choose to read the book as you enjoy the meal plan you may notice a few ingredients that are included in the meals that are not in the book. For your reassurance, the expert dietitians at bistroMD have worked with Dr. Moreno and his team to ensure that your meals follow the overall guidelines set forth by Dr. Moreno in his book, The 17 Day Diet. These menu items are supplied in moderation as part of each nutritionally complete meal and will not hinder your weight loss

How many daily calories is the 17 Day Diet Plan provided by BistroMD?

The plan provides an average of 1,200 calories per day.

If I miss one of my meals on the meal plan, will this have a negative effect on my weight loss?

If you miss one of the meals in your meal plan, this will not have a negative effect on your weight loss. Just as long as you make an attempt to eat at least every four hours, your metabolism will keep going at a consistent rate to help you burn fat. In order to stick with your meal plan, map out a schedule for your meal times so you know exactly when you need to eat, and at what times. Just keep in mind that breakfast is the most important meal of the day, and it’s the one meal you don’t want to skip out on.

Is it okay if I switch some of my meals in my 17 Day Diet Meal Plan? For example, switching lunch and dinner?

The 17 Day Diet Meal Plan offers you a structured menu; however, this is not set in stone. If you feel like you need to eat a meal with fewer carbohydrates in the evening, then it is definitely okay to switch your lunch and dinner entrees. By eating a lighter meal in the evening, this gives your body a lot more time to digest your meal properly, and this will not have a negative effect on your weight loss.

Some of the meal portions seem to be large. Does this contradict the guidelines outlined in the book? If I can’t finish my meals, will I still lose weight?

The portions sizes for each meal are a little larger than you would expect going on a diet, but that is what makes the meal plan so unique. By eating the right foods, in the right proportions, during the right times of day, you will stay fuller longer and help your metabolism retrain itself to burn fat more effectively. Some of the portions may seem large, but each meal is structured to contain the right nutritional balance that is consistent with the guidelines set forth by Dr. Moreno and his book. If you can’t finish the meals, it is nothing to worry about. The purpose of the meal plan is to leave you satisfied, not stuffed. If your body is saying, "I’m full," trust this instinct and don’t finish your meal.

What else should I eat?

The 17 Day Diet book provides recipes that are nutritionally complete. If you have ordered the meal plan, the meals are complete as well. If you wish to supplement snacks or a probiotic, please refer to the book. The 17 Day Diet website also has recipe suggestions.
